Meet the Owner...
Christine Bailey, RMT, is the owner of Western Mass Wellness Center.
Christine's personal search for health led her to the field of alternative medicines. She quickly had a desire and need to bring wellness, through holistic healing, to the Western MA area. Christine helps facilitate healing to those individuals who have experienced trauma in their life; especially sexual, physical and/or verbal abuse. Her intuitiveness and spiritual insight uncovers the source of many physical/emotional ailments, which assists her clients through the process of healing. Depending on the client and issues, she combines modalities which helps release "issues from the tissues" bringing healing to her clients, sometimes instantaneously.
She is a Usui Reiki Master/Teacher and an Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) Master / Instructor. She teaches the various levels of Usui Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) to individuals desiring to broaden their knowledge in the alternative healthcare field. Christine also teaches and enjoys doing angel card readings, working with clients both in person and long distance.
Meet the Practitioners...
Cheryl has over 28 years of experience in retail, with one company.
At the age of 44 she was looking for a change…
“I know what it is like to sit at a desk all day hear coworkers coping with back, neck and shoulder pain,” She recalled. “It hurt me too…”
Cheryl has a passion for animals, and volunteers at the local animal shelter. It was there, after she began working with the shelter dogs, that Cheryl had the opportunity to be part of a group that learned K9 Massage. Shelter dogs benefit greatly from the stress-reducing effects of K9 Massage. It helps them to be calm and relaxed when they meet the public so that they have a better chance of finding new homes.
Her experience with K9 Massage ultimately sparked an interest in serving the general public by becoming a licensed Massage Therapist. She is a graduate of Asnuntuck Community College, and holds licenses in both Connecticut and Massachusetts, and is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). Cheryl is also a Certified Reiki Practitioner. She incorporates energy work into her K9 sessions at the shelter, and frequently utilizes it in her daily life as well.
She notes, “I enjoy helping others and I hope I can help every client feel their best everyday".
Reiki Master Megin Flanagan has had a life-long connection to the practice of reiki, growing up in a family with a strong lineage of energy workers. Reiki refers to the universal energy that is inside all of us. Megin recalls, “I fell in love with practicing reiki because it is so universal; I like the idea that through reiki I empower and foster within myself positive points of view and holistic well-being”. She notes that the powerful benefits of reiki can be vast. “Some things in our lives stick with us, bother us, and our connection to this universal energy gets ignored.” The gentle art of reiki can help to release these energetic blocks and restore balance. “I believe, because of what I’ve learned, that we all have the ability to achieve holistic wellness”. As a Reiki Master Practitioner, Megin assists individuals in reaching this goal.
As a Massage Therapist and Reiki Master Practitioner, Kathi knows the importance of the body, mind, and spirit connection. She has always held a desire to help people. Kathi enjoys combining massage with energy work, which provides her client with a complete body, mind and spirit experience.
Kathi is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and is licensed in both Massachusetts and Connecticut. She is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).
Kathi's journey as an energy worker began in 2013, when she took an Usui Reiki I course. After experiencing the benefits of Reiki for herself, she decided to pursue Reiki II. She continued practicing Reiki on herself and her family, and also began practicing long distance Reiki on her daughter, who was living in South America at that time. Taking a class in essential oils about that same time, she became very interested in the benefits of 100% pure essential oils, and gave some to her daughter to use in South America and her daughter now uses them for cleansing, aromatherapy and even as perfume!
In the Spring of 2017, Kathi completed her Reiki Master Practitioner Training.
Kathi's passion for holistic wellness eventually led her to practice Massage Therapy at Western Mass Wellness Center. As she continues on her wellness journey, Kathi integrates holistic principles into her practice which helps to bring balance and foster well-being for all of her guests at the center.
Andrea Ott is the Lead Therapist for Western Mass Wellness Center.
She is one of the few massage therapists in Massachusetts to offer Ashiatsu Massage - and unique massage modality steeped in ancient holistic tradition, in which the practitioner utilizes clean well maintained feet instead of hands. Thanks to the use of overhead bars, the session can be performed at a traditional massage table.
Sounds strange, but it is an incredibly relaxing and effective massage because it provides broad consistent pressure throughout the massage. You have to try it to believe it!
Andrea also offers traditional Swedish, Deep Tissue, Heated Himalayan Salt Stone Massage, Traditional Basalt Hot Stone Massage, Prenatal Massage and Massage with Essential Oil Aromatherapy. Chair massage is available. She can travel to your location, for those who have mobility issues or who are in a hospice setting.
Andrea is a 2009 graduate of Cortiva Institute.
Amy has been a practitioner of Massage Therapy since 2012, when she graduated from Branford Hall Career Institute. She furthered her education and qualifications by becoming a Certified Medical Massage Practitioner. She also holds a certification in Lymphatic Drainage, an incredibly relaxing and gentle massage modality which helps to promote proper flow of fluids through the lymphatic system. She is also an Usui Reiki II level practitioner and enjoys integrating this energy work into her massage therapy practice.
For as long as she can remember, Suse has known instinctively to send Spiritually Guided Energy to those in need of it. She became a Reiki practitioner in 2006, and certified in IET in 2018. In addition to energy work, Suse offers Guided Meditation, Mindful Breathing Practices, Chakra Balancing, and Yoga. In her practice, she often combines these modalities, creating a unique
wellness experience that fosters and enhances clients’ sense of wholeness and mind-body balance. She shares and teaches these life-long skills to all who may seek it, both the youthful and the sage. Group classes are held at Western Mass Wellness Center each month. Individual sessions are available.
Bonnie is a Reiki Master Teacher and certified in Integrated Energy Therapy. She comes to the Center with years of nutritional and wellness experience. She has a quiet way about her but don't underestimate her healing abilities.
Bonnie works with individuals and groups to facilitate weight loss, additions and emotional blocks through the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
